Jake & Catherina :: Engaged

It was a sweltering summer evening when I headed to the idyllic town of Winterset for Jake and Catherina’s engagement session. We started our time at Catherina’s grandma’s house. I love that they chose a location that is full of memories and meaning for them! I also have some serious front porch envy- I could stay in that porch swing all day! After this we spent some time with the chickens at the Historical Village before heading to the city park. Not only does the park contain one of the famed covered bridges of Madison County, it has been the location of countless family gatherings for several generations of Catherina’s family. I loved being able to record more memories in this place as they prepare for their wedding next summer.

Zac & Kaitlyn :: Married

Zac & Kaitlyn’s wedding day started out bright and early, getting ready at Vanity and Glamour Cosmetics.  The laughter started immediately and continued throughout the day. To say that everyone was happy would be an understatement.  On the way to the church, a good old summer rain storm rolled through.   This helped set the scene for a memorable first look, in a misty Iowa farm field. The day was a whirlwind of celebrating with friends & family; with a beautiful wedding mass celebrated by a priest they’ve known for  years, delicious dinner, many hilarious & heartfelt toasts, a dessert buffet featuring favorite family recipes, and a dance floor that was constantly full. Congratulations Zac & Kaitlyn! We loved photographing your day!

Michael & Alyssa :: Family

Every summer Michael & Alyssa spend a few days at the cabin with the kids. I was happy to join them for an evening to document just a bit of their family tradition.
