Yarn Love Results!

Congratulations to our winner Melanie! She has been contacted via email to lay claim to this wonderful yarn! Thanks to everyone for participating and sharing little slices of your lives on why you choose to knit. It’s been a great start to the week and we hope to do more contests like this in the future. Have a wonderful evening!

Weekend Update :: Wedding Preview + Name Change

First and foremost, thank you for all the responses we’ve had on the Yarn Love contest. The deadline for entry is 5pm central time, Monday, June 28th!  Thanks for the tidbits everyone has shared about their lives and why they love to knit! We love it! Also, don’t forget to ‘fan/like’ Yarn Love on facebook!

We’ve had a wonderful weekend. There will be an absolutely MASSIVE wedding post coming up this week featuring the stunning March and Katie Hom!  It was such a pleasure to photograph!  We’ll have a great back story and formal introductions of the day once we have the full blog post up. Congratulations again to you both and have a great time on your honeymoon.

The last couple things I wanted to mention are important to our business and to other’s as well.

We’d like to extend an offer to small businesses here in Iowa. If there is a need you have that is photography related, please contact us as soon as possible. During some of our midweek downtime we’re willing to do some shoots to help promote what it is you do at almost no charge. This will be on a case by case basis of our availability and what it is you need. (Driving to remote parts of Iowa might not be something we can afford to do time-wise right now). Owning our own business and being successful at it was (and still is) a dream of ours. It’s understandable that many small business owners have zero money right now to apply for certain things they may see as ‘frills’ or ‘extras’. Photography work might be one of those services that is on your ‘wishlist’ that we’d like to help you out with. Contact us via email to let us know what we can do for you.

The last item I want to mention is, sadly, the name “Sarah’s Signature Photography” will be no more. Tomorrow we meet with our design team and finalize the ‘look’ of our new name. But don’t worry! We’re still the same people – just a better name!

Without further delay, here is just a couple of images from the wedding on Saturday!

Yarn Love :: Loves Yarn

Yesterday morning we photographed some beautiful hand-dyed yarn! We worked with Katie over at Yarn Love to get these specific shots. If you knit or have ever had the curiosity to start, this is the yarn to get!  The colors are so vibrant and rich. The only way to get your mits on these luscious skeins of yarn is to head over to www.shopyarnlove.com.  Or…..

***** CONTEST *****  w00t!

I’ve got some skeins to give away. In fact, I have $100 worth of Yarn Love goodness that I want to share with someone. As with any contest, it has a few rules – but they are easy, I promise!

1) Head on over to Yarn Love’s Facebook Fan/Like Page and become a fan!

2) Leave a comment on this blog post! Our blog asks for your email address before you comment –  and so we have a way to get ahold of you to say that you’ve won!

3) Last rule. The comment should be anything about knitting. Why you knit, what you knit, who taught you how or how long you’ve been knitting. Doesn’t have to be but a simple sentence.

DEADLINE  is Monday 6/28!! We’ll literally draw from a hat randomly for the winner! You’ll know Monday evening if you’ve won 😉

That’s it! Enjoy the photographs!

Below are some ‘in action’ shots. Katie brought her children with her for art direction. The children outnumbered the adults 7 : 2.

Adam & Kimberley :: Engaged

We traveled up to Ames for some engagement photos for Adam & Kimberley yesterday evening. They’ll be getting married later this summer.  After photographing them last night I was so anxious to get to work on a blog post to share with everyone. They turned out beautiful. I couldn’t ask for a better couple. If this session is any indication of what the wedding will be like, I think we’re in for an amazing time. Thank you so much for letting us have most of your evening!

****EDIT:  So, I somehow managed to completely miss one of the “e”s in Kimberley’s name. That has been fixed and Sarah has flogged the culprit that wrote the blog post. Back to your regularly scheduled programming 😉
